If you’ve ever tried replacing heating lamps in PET blowing machines, you know the pain. You’re usually stuck juggling messy specs between those old-school SBO systems and the newer Matrix series. It’s a hassle. That’s why we built our replacement lamps to just… work. No modifications, no “hacking” the machine, and no guesswork. They’re designed to slide right into the existing footprint of both Aoki and Sidel hardware. Just pop them in and get back to work. Getting the heat right Here’s the thing: if your heat distribution is off, your preform stretching is off. Simple as that. We matched the wattage and voltage curves of the OEM lamps exactly. If you’re running a high-output line, you can’t have your lamps spiking the current while trying to hit target temperatures. We use high-purity quartz glass so the shortwave IR radiation actually gets through the PET wall the way it should. But a quick heads-up: check your power supply before you start. A lamp made for a Matrix series might pull power differently than an old SBO unit. If your power rails are worn out, you’ll likely see those electrodes burn out way too fast. The fit and feel Nobody likes forcing a part into a machine and praying it doesn’t snap. We spent a lot of time on the connector interface and the exact length of the tube. The end-caps are tight on the tolerances, meaning they slide into the holders smoothly. No forcing, no friction, and—most importantly—no stress fractures in the quartz. We also reinforced the electrodes. Production lines are brutal—constant on-off cycles, heating up and cooling down. These lamps can take that beating without the filaments starting to sag. A few things to keep in mind These lamps give you the heat density you need to keep cycle times fast. But there’s a trade-off. When you push for maximum output, your oven’s cooling fans have to work harder. Keep your ventilation clear of dust and debris. If the oven gets too hot inside, the lamps will wear out faster, no matter how good the quartz is. Keep it cool, and they’ll last.
